Inside Mount: Measure the width at the top, center, and bottom of the opening. Round down to the nearest 1/8 inch and use the smallest measurement. Ensure your tape is level and horizontal. Measure the height at the left, middle, and right. Round down to the nearest 1/8 inch and use the smallest measurement. Ensure your tape is vertical and straight.
Outside Mount: Measure the desired coverage area. Alternatively, you can measure the actual width and height of the opening and add 2 to 6 inches (5.1 to 15.2 cm) to both dimensions for better coverage.

Incorrect. The Side Rails must be assembled with the Main Frame first to determine the exact installation position. If the Side Rails are fixed to the wall before assembly, you may encounter insufficient installation space, or the shade may become misaligned and unable to operate smoothly later.
How do I assemble the two side rails with the main frame?
The bottom ends of the main frame are designed with dedicated grooves, allowing the side rails to be securely inserted and fixed into place for easy assembly. (Note: The metal end of each side rail is the top end — please insert this end into the groove. The end with the cover cap is the bottom end.)
What should I pay attention to when confirming the mounting position?
Before securing the shade, move the Zipper Track shade to the desired top mounting position within the opening. Adjust the overall alignment and diagonals to ensure that both side rails are level and perfectly vertical. Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom, as well as the diagonal dimensions between corners. The three width measurements should be identical, and both diagonal measurements should also be equal. The Motorized Zipper track outdoor shades look great. They keep out the rain and big wind during rain storms. They shade out the setting sun making our porch sitting area much more comfortable. The custom shades arrived very promptly. One shade was missing the Program button and the service team sent out a replacement motor with video instructions, making it a easy task. Highly recommend these shades.

Love the SmartWings motorized Zipper Track outdoor shade so far. Installed it just before the first modest monsoon storm in southern Arizona. Worked well and did need to caulk around the edges to keep out all the rain because of the stucco wall's unevenness. During our +100 degree temps on this west facing wall we're finding the inside room temperature is quite cooler than last year when we didn't have the ability to lower the outside shade. We'll see how the shade holds up when we get our high wind thunder storms in the next month or so. So far, so good. Installation was pretty straightforward (we've had lots of DIY experience and the correct tools) but it does require two people even with the relatively small window. The motor/shde housing is very heavy. Making sure the side rails were even and correctly spaced was essential. The "measure twice" rule is mandatory! ;) We did opt to purchase longer self tapping wood screws (2 1/2 inch) rather than the 1 1/2 inch screws that were provided. Once we had the side rails securely installed we were able to drop the motor/shade assembly onto the rails safely and securely. We had to use two ladders in order for the two of us to get the shade and motor over the top of the side rails. The wireless remote control setup was fairly easy. Especially after re-reading the instructions to find the motor "wake-up" button. We did find the "pre-set" shade stops were not pre-set but following the instruction booklet took care of that quickly. The raising and lowering mechanism works smoothly and is trouble free so far (3 weeks.) Tried to upload a video but this review app doesn't allow both pictures and videos in the same review. We really like the shade. Again, we'll see how well it holds up when we get our strong monsoon storms.
The zipper shades are exactly what we were looking for and certainly met our expectations! They are doing their job of blocking the sun, wind, and rain when needed and connected to our Apple Home Kit system we can control as we had hoped. After the learning curve for installing the first 2 shades, the remaining 4 went quickly. Our measuring was off for the height which we worked out on-site with the right saw blade.

I am so impressed with my smartwings zipper track outdoor shades. I ordered 4 shades for my patio. They arrived within 2 weeks of ordering and were very well packaged to protect them and prevent any damage. Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow and I installed all 4 in an afternoon. The hardest part for me was drilling holes through brick and mortar. These shades are very well made. The motors are quiet and run smoothly. The fabric is heavy and I love that we can see out through them easily but can't really see in from the outside. The shades were all preset to the remote and performed flawlessly. I did have one issue and the customer support staff was very quick to respond and assisted me with no problems. I had a local bid to purchase and install shades and it was almost 5 times what I spend on these Smartwings shades!! I could not be more satisfied with the shades from overall quality to ease of installation to top notch customer service, they provide a great value for the price. I highly recommend!!
The product is very good. The instructions and installation video could be improved, but their phone and email support was excellent. I only wish I could install one on the larger side of my patio, but their shade options, at certain widths, are not available in the length I need. I am very happy with my shade and highly recommended.

Even this large shade was easy to install. The parts fit perfectly and the shade operated immediately. Thank you! One suggestion for improvement, it would be good to know the tracks should be longer than the height of the window by the width of the weight bar at the bottom of the shade. If I install the shade at a height to close the window completely the bottom of the shade remains in view while the shade is full up. If I install the shade high enough for the bar to disappear above the window it is not long enough to come all the way to the bottom of the window. That is a noticeable difference in taking dimensions for outside mount vs. inside mount I did not read in the instructions.

Love these shades and would not hesitate to buy again. The zipper track is a huge upgrade being able to block wind and stay in firmly in place. The frame is very low profile and hardly noticeable when open, even when its mounted on the inside of the opening. And the opening/closing motion is very smooth with the motor. I was hesitant given the minimal number of reviews on this specific product, but am extremely happy with the result. We were quoted around $3k for a similar product and install, so saved a lot of money in the process. The install process was very easy, but will stress the importance of measuring exactly correct (especially with an inside mount) to make sure there are no gaps around the perimeter. Following the measuring instructions on the website was really helpful. Our patio is sloped for drainage so I understood there would not be a full seal to the ground the whole way. Would love to see other options aside from the 3% openness on this product in the future!

I had initially made some measurement mistakes and had to repurchase one out of four shades. Smart Wings was very cooperative and understood the issues. They provided a substantial discount on re-purchase. Customer service was excellent. All of the agents were skilled in answering questions. Would definitely recommend them. I had exterior zipper shades and they extend - retract perfectly by remote control.
Great results and tech support. Experienced a couple of problems with install that were easily resolved. 1-shade was not rolled up evenly when received. Resolved by putting one side into zipper and rolling out and then back up holding zipper into frame. This was done after shade was installed before zipper tracks were put in. 2-couldn’t get zipper track cover to snap on. Resolved by leaving in sun for an hour to heat it up and installed easily. Very happy with the results.

Great unit. Seems to be quality through and through. My only criticism is the instruction to setup the remote. I guess my age has caught up to me as I am having a difficult time getting the shade married up to my remote. I thought I was following the instructions fairly well but have failed, so far. I'll get it worked out, but I am very pleased with the unit. Probably will buy another one for another space that needs one
After getting local quotes between 13-$15K (Los Angeles Area), I started to look elsewhere for something more affordable. Let's start off with the purchasing process. Making a large investment on a custom item can be very scary, but the support team was there along the way consulting and verifying my measurements through various exchanges of photos and videos to ensure I had the perfect fit. I ordered 3 outdoor shades, 3 different width to enclose our sunroom. Took about 3 weeks, if not sooner. Upon arrival, I was VERY impressed with the build quality and materials used for the sun shade. It took a bit of prep work for me, but once we got to the installation process it required 3 people and was incredibly simple to do. My only recommendation, I wish the antenna, charging, and programming cable were not exposed on the front side, aesthetically it doesn't look seamless. I wish it could be positioned on the top of the motor (at least for an outside mount configuration) The shades provide a good amount of light through and also cuts out a lot of heat. At night, it provides a lot of protection from mosquitoes, making the room more usable in the evening. Overall I'm very satisfied with the whole process and the final product and the amount of money I saved in the end.
After installation of my zipper track outdoor blind, it worked perfectly. Later on that day we were unable to get the blind to operate. After further investigation the motor battery needed to be fully charged. After charging the battery overnight, the blind was operational. What an awesome product and worthwhile purchase. I ordered the exterior zipper track screens from Smart Wings. Customer service was great in the front end answering product and installation questions. The screens were extremely well packed. Installation was straight forward, but depending on the size of the units weight becomes a factor if the screens are elevated (mine are over the windows on a screened in porch). I opted to go with the solar feature for the three screens I ordered. I heard from other suppliers that this feature results in a slower up and down operation. I did not find this to be the case with my screens, in fact I was pleasantly surprised at both the speed and how quiet the motor is. We purchased the screens to block the afternoon sun. We can now sit comfortably on the porch and look directly west. A plus I had not thought about is the screens keep the rain and dust out. we have had several thunderstorms since installation and have had no rain enter the porch. I would definitely order the Smart Wings Zipper track screens again.
Screens are high quality and they do as intended blocking the wind and sun. The hardwired motors work really well to close and open the screens. These are top quality outdoor shades. Had a local company come in and quote me $7,000 to manufacture and install. I was able to get them for about $1,000 and I feel as if they are actually made by the same manufacturer that made the $7,000 ones my neighbor has! Instructions leave a little to be desired for clarity sake, but overall great experience. Their follow up to my questions on install were answered promptly and completely. Thanks SmartWings!
