Inside Mount:

Measure the width at the top, center, and bottom of the opening. Round down to the nearest 1/8 inch and use the smallest measurement. Ensure your tape is level and horizontal.

Measure the height at the left, middle, and right. Round down to the nearest 1/8 inch and use the smallest measurement. Ensure your tape is vertical and straight.

Outside Mount:

Measure the desired coverage area. Alternatively, you can measure the actual width and height of the opening and add 2 to 6 inches (5.1 to 15.2 cm) to both dimensions for better coverage.
