I feel like I got what I paid for. I went with these rather than more expensive blinds, and the result is predictable.
They are nice, they mount easily, after a little finesse the z-wave connection worked, and they operate smoothly. They look great, are quiet, have been perfectly reliable.
But they shouldn't really be called "blackout" shades. Even using the tracks for the sides of the shades, and even adjusting the limits, light still pours around the sides of the unit at the top, and there's no real way to fix it.
Overall, I'm happy. The tradeoff is 5% of the light getting through for 50% the cost, and that's probably reasonable.

This went into a guest bedroom to cut out light from the street—total black out. Even in mid-day, the room is dark. The fabric cover and valence add a nice quality to the look. Thank you, SmartWings.
