Matter over Thread
First to bring Matter over Thread to motorized shades.
Your home is finished. Your walls don’t need to change.
Matter over Thread gave motorized shades a low-power wireless path into the Matter ecosystem, making it easier to add connected shades to homes that are already built and lived in.
For homes like:Finished rooms, retrofits, and wireless-first setups.
Requires a compatible Matter Controller and Thread Border Router.
Matter over Ethernet
First to bring Matter over Ethernet to motorized shades.
If you’re wiring the home now, the shades can be part of the plan.
With one Cat5e/6 cable carrying both power and data, Matter over Ethernet gives shades continuous power and a wired Matter connection without relying on Thread.
For homes like:New builds, renovations, whole-home projects, and hard-to-reach windows.
Requires Cat5e/6 cabling, a PoE switch, and a compatible Matter Controller.
Z-Wave 800 LR
First to bring Z-Wave 800 LR to motorized shades.
Some homes simply have more ground to cover.
Using sub-GHz communication, Z-Wave 800 LR gives motorized shades another path for broader whole-home coverage, especially where multiple floors or an established Z-Wave system are part of the picture.
For homes like:Larger homes, multi-story layouts, and existing Z-Wave systems.
Requires a compatible Z-Wave hub.

For new builds and renovations, hardwiring gives your shades continuous power without routine charging. Choose DC 12V for planned low-voltage wiring, or AC 110V–240V where mains power is already designed into the project.
