Installation Guide

Before Installation – What You Need to Know
  1. One Panel Per Shade: Each solar panel is designed to work with a single motorized shade.
  2. Adhesive Use: Once the solar panel is installed, avoid pulling or repositioning it. The 3M adhesive backing is meant for one-time use.
  3. Aesthetic Placement: To keep the setup looking clean and discreet, consider placing the motor on the right side to better hide cables.
Determine the Location of the Solar Panel
  • Place the panel on the window glass near your motorized shade, preferably where it receives direct sunlight.
  • Install the panel on the same side as the motor to minimize visible cables.
  • Keep it unobstructed:
    • Avoid installing on triple-pane or heavily tinted windows.
    • Do not place under awnings, roof eaves, or other overhangs.
    • Ensure there are no plants or decorations blocking sunlight.

Step 1: Clean the Surface

Use a dry cloth to wipe the window glass where you will mount the panel. Make sure it is smooth, dry, and free of dust.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much sunlight is needed to power the shade?
Typically, around 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight per day is sufficient to achieve a full charge. This ensures your shades perform consistently throughout the day. If your area experiences weaker or indirect sunlight, charging may take slightly longer.
What should be done if there is rainy or cloudy weather?
Don't worry — the motorized shades are designed with built-in rechargeable batteries. Even during a full week of cloudy or rainy days, the stored energy is usually enough to keep your shades operating smoothly.
How can I confirm that the solar panel is providing power to the shade?
The motor LED light flashes green when it recharges the motor, and turns solid green when the battery is fully charged.
Does the solar panel need direct sunlight?
The solar panel charges whenever exposed to sunlight, though efficiency depends on the angle. Avoid installing under eaves or in shade; not compatible with triple-pane or tinted windows.
